We're excited to introduce the Season Switcher—a new feature that gives you instant access to your league's complete historical data. With a single click, you can travel back in time to view standings, player stats, and schedules from any past season.
What Is the Season Switcher?
The Season Switcher is a dropdown menu that appears in your league banner when you're viewing the Standings, Players, or Schedule tabs. It shows your current season (marked with a "Current" label) along with all your historical seasons.
Click on any past season, and the page instantly updates to show data from that time period. No page reloads, no searching through archives—just seamless access to your league's history.

Track Player Development
Watch players improve season over season. Compare this year's stats to last year's and see the progress. It's especially valuable for youth leagues where development is a key focus.

How to Use the Season Switcher
Using the Season Switcher is straightforward:
- Navigate to your league dashboard by clicking on your league from the homepage or your favorites.
- Go to a supported tab—Standings, Players, or Schedule.
- Look for the season dropdown in the league banner area, next to any division or tournament selectors.
- Click the dropdown to see all available seasons. The current season is marked with "(Current)" for easy identification.
- Select any historical season and watch the data update instantly.
Pro tip: The URL updates when you switch seasons, so you can share direct links to specific historical views. Send your teammate a link to that season they dominated the scoring charts.
What Data Is Available?
The Season Switcher works across three key areas of your league dashboard:
Standings
View team rankings, wins, losses, ties, overtime results, and points from any season. See how the playoff picture looked at the end of past seasons.
Players
Browse individual player statistics including goals, assists, points, penalty minutes, and more. Filter and sort to find scoring leaders from any year.
Schedule
Review the complete game history for any season. See final scores, dates, and matchups from seasons past.
For League Administrators
Good news: you don't need to do anything special to enable this feature. Historical seasons are automatically preserved when you start a new season in HockeySync. All your past data remains accessible forever—no manual archiving or data migration required.
